We're so happy we actually managed to get these three to play Teach Ceoil. It's also an added bonus they're our relatives AND its on Andys birthday, yaaay.

If you know who these people are then they need no introduction if you don't brace yourself for an evening of some of the finest traditional Irish music available on this island and by default, in the world.

Barry Kerr, Donogh Hennessy and Laura Kerr are some of the most talented musicians in traditional Irish music today.

Barry Kerr is one of Ireland’s most accomplished artists. His work as both a composer and visual artist expresses the very heart of Irish life. As a highly regarded singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer and painter he is extremely prolific in his creative output. Having recorded his first album at the age of seventeen he has gone on to tour the world as a solo artist and has been equally at home sharing the stage in the company of artists such as Cara Dillon, Dan Tyminskii, Lumiere, Dervish and Steve Cooney. Barry was awarded the prestigious Liam O’Flynn award from the National Concert Hall and the Arts Council in 2020 and he recently released ‘Cairn’, an album of self-penned tunes as part of that project.

Donogh Hennessy is a guitarist, composer, music producer and studio engineer who has been working mostly with Irish traditional and folk music best known as the former guitarist in Lúnasa. It is through Lúnasa that some of Hennessy's compositions have become known and they are often played by the younger generation of traditional musicians.

These days Donogh is regarded for his recorded and live work with artists like Lúnasa, Sharon Shannon, Lumiere, Seamus Begley and Pauline Scanlon and numerous others

Laura Kerr is a highly-accomplished fiddle player from Lurgan, Co. Armagh. In 2018 she released a widely acclaimed duet album, Castor Bay, with her brother Barry and has recorded as a guest musician on a long list of traditional Irish music albums. Laura’s driving Northern fiddle style and her tasteful accompaniment of songs is testament to the musical household she grew up in where her parents’ family pub, The Céilí House, played patron to some of Ireland’s finest musicians. Whilst living in Dingle, Co Kerry for almost ten years, she was a member of Séamus Begley’s Síbín Orchestra, a band named after Séamus’s infamous Síbín in Baile na bPoc, West Kerry. Laura has toured extensively with various bands over the years and she has appeared on and indeed presented TV and Radio programmes on RTÉ, TG4 and BBC.

Laura also plays wtih Andy in his An Madra Rua project and may join him on stage on the night, we'll see how it goes.
